Pair of walnut dining chairs with oatmeal linen seats in a sun-drenched dining room
Why these chairs

A chair is the only piece in the room you wear

A bad dining chair tells you within twenty minutes. Yottabit chairs are shaped to support the small of the back, with seat pans that slope a fractional 3° backwards and front rails relieved to remove pressure on the back of the thigh.

  • Solid walnut, white oak, ash, or stained meranti frames
  • Steam-bent backrest options for curved-back models
  • Hand-stretched linen, leather, velvet or performance fabric covers
  • Removable seat-pad covers as standard (cold-water washable)
  • Arm-chair / armless variants made on the same frame

Why bespoke

Chain-store dining chairs fail at the back leg

Production chairs are designed to ship flat. That means the rear leg, which takes most of the diagonal stress when you lean back, is joined with a single dowel and glue. By year three, it wobbles. By year five, it splits.

Our chairs use a triple-joint rear leg construction: mortise-and-tenon into the seat rail, a hidden hardwood corner block, and a steel reinforcement plate. The chair can be tipped onto its back legs by an adult man and it will not creak. We test every chair this way before it leaves the workshop.
